When you read things on the web, video is a must. But when it comes to video there is some important things you want to keep in mind. One of the most important things is to to keep it short. Short and sweet is your best way to go, because once that three minute mark hits, you start to lose your audience.

The video The Brotherhood from the New York Times is a short 2:22 video that talks about four people who are approaching their 40s and still living as roomated for the past 18 years. To me this video speaks because as one of the roomate said, Astoria, Queens is a place where you can get away with living with roomates at their age.The video explains how they are all straight but they choose to live with each other. One of their girlfriends who is 24-years-old also makes an appearence and talks about them living together. She said that dating an older guy she thought he would have his own apartment and it would be so cool but instead he is in the same situation as her and she likes it.

This really worked because it shows the guys and you get to see their character. Also it shows the girlfriend and you see the emotion and how she doesn’t mind him living with roomates. This was a fun style video by the New York Times that shed light on how acceptable it is at any age to have roomates, especially in New York and the five boroughs.
